We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship – Harville Hendrix
Relationship therapy, including gay relationships
Do you want to improve the quality of your relationship or better your communications skills? Has an affair caused broken trust and major damage to the relationship? Are you in an emotionally or physically abusive relationship? Do you experience sexual difficulties in your relationship? Are you not sure if you want to stay together or separate?
In couples therapy I work with the relationship between the couple and as the facilitator of that process I can help you attain a more loving, supportive and satisfying relationship. Solutions to relationship problems are found in the relationship and not only in the individual. I use Imago Therapy principles and techniques as well as a systems theory approach. The couple consciously work on becoming more mindful, emotionally connected and intimate and gain mastery over destructive relationship strategies like criticism, contempt, defensiveness and stonewalling. Active listening and empathy are relationship skills that can be taught.
